Kindle 3 & Leather Cover
my kindle 3 arrived yesterday~
and I made a leather cover for it,
for there are some disasters happened about the screen broken....
關於 Amazon 出的 電子書 Kindle 3,
真的很快就到了耶!!!!
24號 下的 order, 27 下午就到了~
報關的程序也在UPS的幫忙下很順利的完成~
老實說, 6 吋的 螢幕有點小, 不過整台真的很輕巧；
螢幕小的問可以用放大來解決, so.... not a matter!
and 我買的是 wifi + 3G 版~
當初是看到他全球 3G 都免費, 想說就差 50 美金, 買 wifi+3G 版會比 wifi 版划算~
可是....
雖然它可以上 TW 的 yahoo, 也可以收我的 gmail.....
但是... 那速度 真是慢到會嚇死人!!!!!!!
是有聽說他很慢, 但沒有預料他慢成這樣!!!!! ORZ
(他上 Amazon 首頁倒是很快)
所以, 這上網功能, 還真的是為了要讓你去 Amazon 買書用....
說到買書, 可能是版權和出版商的問題,
某些 在美國下載是免費的書, 你用台灣的 ip download 他, 就硬是會被多收 2美元...
偏偏那些看起來比較吸引我的, 多是這種要多收 2美元的 冏~
anyway, ^^~
goolge 解決的方法~
美國住址 & GREEN VPN (美國ip);
用 VPN 會讓網路的速度很慢, 不過 ^^ 只要忍耐一下下 download 的時間 ,
便賺了 2 美元 (or more) ~~~~ 當然要忍一下!!!!!
因為這台 kindle 3, 才發現網路上的是什麼書都有耶!!!! 多數都是免錢 XDDDDD
一下子就收集了10多本想看的中英文書 和漫畫 ^^"""""
希望, 我能用它多看一些英文經典文學和小說~
然後, 如果你要買的話, 我建議買 kindle wifi only 版本 ($139 + 稅和運, 大約共 $169)
就很好用了~
^^ 剩下的錢, 就拿來買週邊產品, ex. 保護套.... (我是 DIY 啦 :)) or 買些想看的書 比較實在~

Ans:
"you can also press Menu and choose 'Place Cursor in Page' to display the cursor."
So, We can use the cursor to make notes or use dictionary lookup. ^_^
這幾天, 發現讀PDF檔案, 在 放大(zoom-in)時, 五向鍵 只剩移頁面的功能,
(這 PDF file 不放大, 還真是讀不下去!!!!!!! 讀一個 column 就鬥雞眼了吧...)
原本只要把游標擺上去後, 就會出現 文字定義(牛津字典...) 的功能不見了 冏~
(這樣迷霧之子的英文版我實在看不下去 ORZ)
剛剛 google 了一下才發現 ^^" 只要在放大後的頁面上,
按下 MENU, 並選擇選單裡的 " Plece Cursor in Page" 那游標就會再度出現了耶....
(我沒有仔細看使用說明 ^^a 的下場...)
有游標就好辦事啦, 不管要 寫 註解 or 查字典 都很方便啦~~

他有買 amazon 的這個皮套, 說真的, 還蠻重的耶 ^^"""""
相較之下, 我那2.5mm厚的原色植躪皮真的是有輕巧 :))))))
ps. 厚一點的皮(>=2.5mm) 雖然在縫製的時候手很痛....
但是展現出來的微裂紋路和使用時發出的 咭咭喎喎 聲音聽起來真的很過癮 ^+++++^

Stationery I: Fountain Pen
DECLARE:

As usual, I always interested
in classic and vintage subjects!
I found an new interesting subject:
Fountain Pen, as I surfed on
Internet for a new notebook~
I love to fill the notebook with diary,
drawing, daily schedules, stamps,
maps about some interesting stores,
tickets of somewhere, ...
anyway, I'm always crazy about stationeries...
And, today I want to share some inexpensive fountain pens that I had tried/used and
I think their C/P (capability/price) value!!!!
First, Pilot Preppy, TWD 75 (~USD 2.3)
for younger people, were born after 1893 ^^",
most of them do not have any experience of
using fountain pens, and a barely good and
beautiful one is too expensive to let us buy it!
(compared to ball-point pen, pencil, ...).
So, Preppy, a product of Platinum, is an alternative.
We can spend a bit of money and let us know that is Fountain Pen good for me?
As showed in the above figure, we can find there are many colors we can choose!
In my experience, it doesn't make any difference (compared to ball-point pens).
So, just try it~ :P You have nothing to lose~ just $2.3!

It's Pilot's product!
this nib of this series is EF (Extra Fine).
Note that, comparing to nib size (EF, Fine, Bold) of the Western manufactories (Lamy, Waterman, Pelikan, ...), Pilot's nib is thinner about 1 time than western size, i.e., Lamy's EF nib is equal to Pilot's F nib.
This results form the structure of the Chinese-word is more complex than a, b, c, ..., so a thinner nib is necessary to get a good Chinese-word.
By the way, the price of this pen is ~ 220 TWD
(~6.67 USD).
Then, what I'll introduce is widely used in ..... '60s~'70s in Taiwan, MINKA Fountain Pen.
Here are two hints is above sentence.
First, "widely used", it means this pen was
very cheap in the time, and fortunately, it's
still inexpensive nowadays!
and the price is 450TWD for a set,
each set include 3 pens.
It means the price of one pen is 150 TWD (~$4.45).
For now, nibs of these pens I introduced are made of steel.
I have to say that these pens are good enough
daily working, especially for students.
They have following advantages:
1. low cost,
2. not conspicuous,
And if you fall in rabid enthusiasm of the stationery as I do......
Maybe, we would like to try some............
special products :P

Honestly, I did not like the shape, modeling in the beginning.....

and the controlling ability of ink flow-down is great!
By using it, I can take care both Chinese- and
English- word.
Today I just wanna share my fountain pens,

Before Sunrise and Before Sunset
haha~ I just watched a DVD....
^^a as I feel easy and relaxative.... usually, the next step is "watching a movie ~" :D
so I picked "Before Sunset".....
hm..... I was so... many ideas and notions to share with you as watching it,
but now, somehow.... aha~ my brain is in a blank and mess condition.... Orz
anyway, there are some key words:
Julie Delpy is gorgeous!
what a sweety, touch, and melancholy scenario....
ok~ now I got some feelings to write somethings..
the problem is "Timining"!!!!!
They missed each other since 9 year ago~!
(I just sipped the coffee I made apprximate 1hr ago...
that tested so bitter...>""< damn! the temp. of the water was too hot!)
as Celine said: what is lost is lost!!!!!!!
so ....... from now~
Make sure or try your best at least: Do not lose anything! (sigh~)
And we can find that people always talk to each other in a roundbout way (indirectly)!
ha~ so I thnk I have to find some other one who I can talk to directly!
and if you are lucky enough, have a man to talk about everything, treasure him/her!
About their concersation, I wonder that dose there exist 2 peoples they have so many topics to talk about?
ha~ and it's not surprised that a conversation between a male and a female always gose to the topic: sex~

New Arrivial: Desk Lamp
ok, as waitting for the reply and since today is the last sunny day of this week in Taiwan,
and I got a used desk lamp form a antique shop in Hsinchu, Taiwan,
let me share this lovely thing for you:
it's so elegant and succinct ~
The intensity of the light is absolutely sufficient for reading or wiritting,
but if like to use it to creat a romantic ambiance...... I think the light is to strong!
Perhabs you will say: are u kidding me? the (light) intensity of this photo is .... not so "sufficient" as u mensioned!!!
haha~ that resulted from the camera setup,
I try to creat a worm and smooth tableau, and remove miscellaneous things in my room,
so I held the shutter speed between 15-60 sec to avoid any motion arteifacts and use an appropriate aperture to decrease the quantity of the incoming light.
^^ I think it's easy to understand if you have experience of playing camera. ^^~
there are other photos I took last nigt :
if you have some antique material please let me know, even you live in other countries,
probably that's a treasure for me :P
all right, I have to leave for praying now~ :P

Cowsplit leather & flip clock
dear all,
I spent (much) money for a piece of cowsplit leather (a side, or half buffalo )....
haha~ the leather came from U.S.A. and processed in Taiwan.
I have to say: woow! what a big buffalo is!!!!!!
the size of this side hm..... I guess approximate 250cm x 100cm....
'cause I don't take a photo for it yet,
I borrowed 2 photos form here,
and as the title showed, the other goods is 'Flip clock'...
(figure comes from here)
haha~ the price is acceptable and beared~
although the material of the clock is plastic,
I guess it'll become a vintage/classic one after some treatment and operation ^+++^
(I'm planning to make a wooden case and put/set it into the case or .....)

本來想到ebay標一個木製老翻頁鐘的,
雖然一個只要10美元，但加上運費實在不划算 囧～
所以只好在台灣買個369含運一個的塑膠 flip clock啦 ^^a
我考慮做個木盒子來裝它 or 幫它貼木皮勉強過點乾癮 XDD~

阿~ 其實我有順便買了張原色的小牛皮,
(這價錢真是親切多了! XDD)
打算拿來做個 有著我穿了外套手還伸得進去的提帶
以及隔層優良不會拿個東西掏半天...
= =a 掏到我美麗得心情都變陰天的托特包哩....

買了好大一張裂紋皮哩~
一眼就相中了店裡只剩一張的裂紋皮... 囧~
聽說是有人向工廠特別訂製，有多做流出來的!
製作工法比較耗成本(過程要加很多油脂)且需要特別的鞣製劑~
老闆其他張皮都願意裁成小塊來賣我，就這一塊例外... = =a
這張皮是半頭牛, 英文來說就是 一邊 (side),
^^ 所以一頭牛 就是由兩邊組成的呀~
這皮超大的啦! 大概可以當被子蓋了吧 XDDD
也因為他富含油脂，所以...除了不用再上油保養外還很有牛肉乾的感覺耶!!!
我打算用它來做自己的包包~ 會先做個郵差包吧~ ^++++^
接著... 就再說哩~
雖然很想再做個書衣... 不過感覺有點浪費 XD
反正到時再說吧 哈...
那包包不知是多久以後才會完成的事了 囧~

track 10: The RIde of the Valkyries 那段... 女聲好像變沉厚耶 XD
在家播 CD時，那女人感覺比較瘦~ 今天... XD 變成典型女中音的體型了 ^^"

但如果是人家借我的mp3 files...
就能明顯感受到有很雜的背景聲......
