what a wonderful day!
and another exhausting & exciting week passed by again~
i gave myself a break today (smile),
and made a small leather bag of a sewing kit.

i do not like to use white-things for my everyday-using-stuffs.....
but i had no choice, anyway.
that's what i only have ^^"
and it would not be a matter in a few days~
you know,
it will become a gray or some other dirty one in the end :))))

Leather DIY --- A Leather Cover for iPod Classic

I spent around 1 hr for this cover.
those locations and sizes of holes are not precise enough.... :)
I just wanna do something at the moment... and wanna finish it as soon as possible ~
so it what it is ^~^

這是年假某天完成的 iPod Classic 保護套~
之前買的那個假皮的保護套其表面已經碎裂好一陣子了.
剛好趁年假的某天, 撿些用剩的碎皮, 極迅速的完成這套子~

當時只想儘快完成它 ^^:
所以那些孔沒開得很精準，但完全不影響使用的啦~~~~

LeatherCraft --- Skiving // 皮革削薄

一直想找個工具來應付用偶爾玩皮時需要的削薄工作~

這一種像水果削皮刀的式樣, 我試過一次, 對我來說, 不大順手 = ="

這種的, 目前還沒機會試用; 但看了 youtube 的 demo clips...

感覺應該和上面那種差不多~

於是.... 想到了木工用的鉋刀!!!!! :))))

I made this hip bag in last weekend~


This bag has a capacity of a Contax T3 and a roll of 135-film~







The thickness of the leather used in this object is ~2.5mm!!!!!

The sewing was absolutely a painful process.....
(Thanking for the help of pliers~~~~~)

And, this just version 1.0~ :P

Hope v1.1 and further versions could come out as soon as possible~ ^+++++++^

Kindle 3 & Leather Cover

my kindle 3 arrived yesterday~

and I made a leather cover for it,

for there are some disasters happened about the screen broken....







關於 Amazon 出的 電子書 Kindle 3,
真的很快就到了耶!!!!
24號 下的 order, 27 下午就到了~
報關的程序也在UPS的幫忙下很順利的完成~

老實說, 6 吋的 螢幕有點小, 不過整台真的很輕巧；
螢幕小的問可以用放大來解決, so.... not a matter!

and 我買的是 wifi + 3G 版~
當初是看到他全球 3G 都免費, 想說就差 50 美金, 買 wifi+3G 版會比 wifi 版划算~
可是....
雖然它可以上 TW 的 yahoo, 也可以收我的 gmail.....
但是... 那速度 真是慢到會嚇死人!!!!!!!
是有聽說他很慢, 但沒有預料他慢成這樣!!!!! ORZ
(他上 Amazon 首頁倒是很快)
所以, 這上網功能, 還真的是為了要讓你去 Amazon 買書用....

說到買書, 可能是版權和出版商的問題,
某些 在美國下載是免費的書, 你用台灣的 ip  download 他, 就硬是會被多收 2美元...
偏偏那些看起來比較吸引我的, 多是這種要多收  2美元的 冏~
anyway, ^^~
goolge 解決的方法~
美國住址 & GREEN VPN (美國ip);
用 VPN 會讓網路的速度很慢, 不過 ^^ 只要忍耐一下下 download 的時間 ,
便賺了 2 美元 (or more) ~~~~ 當然要忍一下!!!!!

因為這台 kindle 3, 才發現網路上的是什麼書都有耶!!!! 多數都是免錢 XDDDDD
一下子就收集了10多本想看的中英文書 和漫畫 ^^"""""

希望, 我能用它多看一些英文經典文學和小說~

然後, 如果你要買的話, 我建議買 kindle wifi only 版本 ($139 + 稅和運, 大約共 $169)
就很好用了~

^^ 剩下的錢, 就拿來買週邊產品, ex. 保護套.... (我是 DIY 啦 :)) or 買些想看的書 比較實在~

"you can also press Menu and choose 'Place Cursor in Page' to display the cursor."
So, We can use  the cursor to make notes or use dictionary lookup. ^_^

這幾天, 發現讀PDF檔案, 在 放大(zoom-in)時, 五向鍵 只剩移頁面的功能,
(這 PDF file 不放大, 還真是讀不下去!!!!!!! 讀一個 column 就鬥雞眼了吧...)

原本只要把游標擺上去後, 就會出現 文字定義(牛津字典...) 的功能不見了 冏~
(這樣迷霧之子的英文版我實在看不下去 ORZ)

剛剛 google 了一下才發現 ^^" 只要在放大後的頁面上,

按下 MENU, 並選擇選單裡的 " Plece Cursor in Page" 那游標就會再度出現了耶....
(我沒有仔細看使用說明 ^^a 的下場...)

有游標就好辦事啦, 不管要 寫 註解 or 查字典 都很方便啦~~

這幾天跟 和一個用 kindle 2 的同學彼此把玩各自的 kindle;

他有買 amazon 的這個皮套, 說真的, 還蠻重的耶 ^^"""""

相較之下, 我那2.5mm厚的原色植躪皮真的是有輕巧 :))))))

ps. 厚一點的皮(>=2.5mm) 雖然在縫製的時候手很痛....

但是展現出來的微裂紋路和使用時發出的 咭咭喎喎 聲音聽起來真的很過癮 ^+++++^

裁皮刀 /leather knife

過年前在家鄉買了支 70元的裁皮刀 (季次),
當時以為是賺到!
後來才發現是台製品, 那價錢是正常售價 XDDD 沒有賺到!
當時的想法是： 反正不利就自己磨一下, 不好用也沒有虧很大~
^^" 現在的想法也是差不多啦!
畢竟比 美貴久 & 秀次 這些日本製的東便宜了10倍多一點....

只是最近做了大一點的東西發現.....
這刀還真是容易變的不利 = =a
大約割了10m的皮就不行啦 orz...
這時 就又要拿出溼答答的磨刀石再給他磨個幾下....
雖然有點不方便, 但磨刀其時也蠻...別有一番風味~ ^X^
只是跟我手邊現有的音樂不大搭......
XD 或許日本大河劇的配樂會合適些吧....
想像我磨的是武士刀 XDDDDDDD

說是這樣說, 囧~ 根據我對自己的了解...
下一次做大一點的東西前一定會買支秀次回家的 >""< ...

I bought a leather knife in Dec. 2009....
this's a surprising inexpensive one, 70 TWD, approximately 2.12 USD....
ha~ I thought : wooow~ a great buy hahahhahahahah...a....
hm.... even now, it's still a good buy~
^^ according to the price, sharpening this kinfe frequently can be expected....
for now, it dosen't a matter ~
I can grind it after my work....
ha~ and I image ths I'm sharpening a samurai sword.....
(sad, there isn't any one of my CDs is suitable for this process.....)
and the point is the price of this leather knife is ~ 1/10 of most Japanese knifes!!!!

even thought it's price benifit & I really enjoy the sharpening process,
I think I'll buy a Japanese leather knife sooner or later~
^^ as I said "for now", my products are dust wrapper for book, note book, ... something like that~
and there are shouder bag, customized bags (smile~), .... in my work list....
I don't think I can stand that I've to sharpening it after each 10 meter cuttung work!!!!

Cowsplit leather & flip clock

dear all,
I spent (much) money for a piece of cowsplit leather (a side, or half buffalo )....
haha~ the leather came from U.S.A. and processed in Taiwan.
I have to say: woow! what a big buffalo is!!!!!!
the size of this side hm..... I guess approximate 250cm x 100cm....
'cause I don't take a photo for it yet,
I borrowed 2 photos form here,

 

 yep, this is what I said 'cowsplit leather'.

(I think 'crack leather' perhaps more clear the meaning in Chinese ^^.)

買了好大一張裂紋皮哩~

一眼就相中了店裡只剩一張的裂紋皮... 囧~

聽說是有人向工廠特別訂製，有多做流出來的!

製作工法比較耗成本(過程要加很多油脂)且需要特別的鞣製劑~

老闆其他張皮都願意裁成小塊來賣我，就這一塊例外...  = =a

這張皮是半頭牛, 英文來說就是 一邊 (side),

^^ 所以一頭牛 就是由兩邊組成的呀~

這皮超大的啦! 大概可以當被子蓋了吧 XDDD

也因為他富含油脂，所以...除了不用再上油保養外還很有牛肉乾的感覺耶!!!

我打算用它來做自己的包包~ 會先做個郵差包吧~ ^++++^

接著... 就再說哩~

雖然很想再做個書衣... 不過感覺有點浪費 XD

反正到時再說吧 哈...

那包包不知是多久以後才會完成的事了 囧~

嘿嘿~終於讓我找到便宜的翻頁鐘了！
本來想到ebay標一個木製老翻頁鐘的,
雖然一個只要10美元，但加上運費實在不划算　囧～
所以只好在台灣買個369含運一個的塑膠 flip clock啦 ^^a
我考慮做個木盒子來裝它 or 幫它貼木皮勉強過點乾癮 XDD~

buy the way,
I bought a chrome natural leather as well,
this side will be used to make a tote-bag ~
阿~  其實我有順便買了張原色的小牛皮,
(這價錢真是親切多了! XDD)
打算拿來做個 有著我穿了外套手還伸得進去的提帶
以及隔層優良不會拿個東西掏半天...
= =a 掏到我美麗得心情都變陰天的托特包哩....

I made this leather note book this afternoon ....
hm.... it's very....very interesting and requires patience...
in fact, this object spent ~9hr to finish (12:30~21:30) it...
haha~ but this not obstructs my passion and favorite to look forward to getting now project ~
hope you can come with me ~
by the way, the studio is a comfortable & snug  space (of course, the owner & master as well.. ^^)
