ha, I am in my office now, even though today is a national holiday.....
(I wanna get my Ph.D degreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee............)
Anyway, I give myself a 1.5hr break and today's cloud, temperature....
evoke a warming experience as I missed the last bus in Gosausee, Austria.
Because of our travelling budget, time,.....
we just had 2 days to visit Hallstatt, Ice Cave, and Gosausee.....
(we did not visit the Salt Mine.... sad!)
You know, time always does not enough for visiting such beautiful and romantic landscapes!
As a backpacker,
bus/train timetable is always the first thing to check,
especially when you arrive to a great place :))))
so, I checked the time, 17:10, for the last bus which would take us back to our hotel (Hallstatt).
And then...... Enjoying ~
I was plaining to be a skinny-dipper :)))
But I partner would not join with me............
we took some salon-like photos ^+++++^
ding, ding, ding~~~
It's time to go to the bus stop! (16:40)~
hm.................
it's 17:20!!!! where's the bus.........
In our experience, Austria's public communications are always on time!
So, we checked the timetable again.....
OH MAN!!!!
17:10 is for School-Day, Monday to Friday!!!
However, it's Sunday ................ We missed the last bus!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How fortunately! We met this kind man and his lovely mom~
In the beginning, this gentleman and the lady were just finishing exercise walking,
and asked me "Do you know what time is it?"~
^^" I answered "WE MISS THE LAST BUS"......
so~ ^++++++++++^ they took us to a bus stop, and we can take bus to our hotel at the stop~
After checking the timetable(bus will arrive in 10min), they went into a across-street store~
I had nothing to do as waiting bus... so I checked the timetable again....
MAMAMIYA...... we made the same mistake.....
the bus will arrive in 10min is for School-day only!!!
We had to wait around 45min for the bus on that day (Sunday)~
As you know, in Europe, stores and vendors are off around 18:00~19:30 in weekend....
and we had about 30min to kill before the bus arriving,
so, we went into the store to buy our dinner~
The Lady saw us and asked "why you are here?"
After explaining, they decided to take us to Hallstatt and
the Lady bought cakes and chocolate-bars to us (I was almost crying.... what a great Lady!),
and the gentleman told us:
"It's not worth to spend time waiting a bus in such beautiful place and vocation~"
In the car, we talked about Hallstall's history, where is the MUST VISIT, and
man should have a wife in each country :) (the Lady has some different opinion, of course ),
and sang "500 miles" : away from home, away from home~~~~
We deeply appreciate your kindness and help~
^+++++++++++++++++++++++++++^
And I am going to sent a postcard to you Lady ~
Hoping the postcard can arrive to your house
(Because I'm not sure the address is correct... = ="
you know, handwriting sometimes is hard to recognize,
especially for people, like me, whose first language is not English...)

Paint--- The Tree of Life/Klimt
ref
"
The Tree of Life
1909
by Gustav Klimt
The Tree of Life is an important symbol in nearly every culture. With its branches reaching into the sky, and roots deep in the earth, it dwells in three worlds- a link between heaven, the earth, and the underworld, uniting above and below. It is both a feminine symbol, bearing sustenance, and a masculine, visibly phallic symbol- another union."
ps.
feminine (女性的): conventionally associated with women
sustenance: Food and drink regarded as a source of strength; nourishment
masculine (男性的): of traditional manly character
phallic (陰莖的, 陰莖崇拜的): of phallus: relating to or resembling a phallus
I met Klimt last October as traveling in Vienna,
I love his "gold leaf" works :))))))
so bought some post cards of his masterpiece to home
(it's the most economical choice ^^a )
hope you would like his paints

Trip 001: Hostel: Wombat_Vienna
I've came back to Taiwan 4 days~ (since 21 October, 2010),
Jetlag...... hm.... a bit of~ ^^
even there are soooooooo many things have to be finished!
^+++++++^ make notes for this trip is necessary!!!!!!!!!!
it could be regarded as some kinds of feedback (to Backpacker) or just my traveling notes.
whatever, let's start form HOSTEL.
It my first time to stay in a HOSTEL (WOMBAT_Vienna),
(oh man.... I really wanna write in Chinese.... it's easier for me... anyway.... hold on!!!!)
on average, it's a great experience.... :)
To Be Continued ~
1. staff:
I have to say that all staffs are excellent!!!! ^++++++++++^
and I think that staffs of The Base are bits of friendlier than The Lounge~
hm.... though they are all kindness and smiling~
you just can tell the different between true-smiling and smile for business....
ha~ whatever~ in short, they are great!!!! :)
and I have to appreciate to a male staff of The Lounge~
^^ He told me how to find 2 bike stores nearby, so I got some bike-components....
2. room/ internet:
Though it's my first time to stay in a Hostel,
according to some experts' ( of the backpacker) experience,
they all told me that Wombat's rooms and environment are excellent!
and I agree with them.
all right, I wanna complain one thing..... I CANNOT GET WLAN-SIGNAL IN MY ROOM....
so we (people who wanna use free WLAN) have to go to the hostel lounge (on the ground floor)
to use it~
aha~ there are always two sides to every story...
so, perhaps it's another way to make new friends~ ^+++^
(yes~ resulted in it, I made a friend form Germany and he is major in psychology in Vienna now~)
oh~ last thing is beds of The Lounge are better than The Base (on average~)
("Better" because those beds could provide less noise as you turn your body over....).
3. bar
Oh Men.... Today is 09 Nov, 2010.......
^^ I even have not finished my first travelling note.... (shamed)
And even I have so great excuses, like conference reports, grant procedures, progressing reposts, .......
hm..... I just came back from backpackers, so.... ha I have to work hard now!!!!!!!!!
About photos, ahhhhhhhh~~~~ there're ~10 rolls (film) in my fridge.... = =a
anyway, just GOOGLE it, there are so many beautiful photos you can find out on the internet~
ok, abut "BAR",
I have to say, there is not my place! at least in this stage!
I just can not make myself be one of that part,
so I did not spend too much time at there,
what I did just like: "hi, I would like a beer (smile)", "Thank you (smile)" ^^"
so let's PASS this part~
4. social room: backpackers, kitchen, ...
There is a kitchen in The Lounge.
So people usually buy something form nearby markets, and cook by themselves in the kitchen.
This is a wonderful kitchen!
There are everything you need, fridges, hotplates,
free rice, free pasta, salt, cumin, tableware, kitchen knifes, .......
So, just buy something form a market, and take a bit of time,
then you can enjoy a cheaper and delicious ( of course, this depends on your skill :) ) meal~
by the way, I'm pretty sure that there are not (smoking) alarms!
^^" "cause I stir-fried in Taiwanese way~~~~~~~~~~
That resulted in lots of smoke............................................................. ^^a
5. breakfast
If you are too lazy to cook~
That's fine, you can still enjoy the Breakfast (all you can eat) provided by the WOMBAT.
And the price is quite fair: 3.5 EUR
(don't know why, the price increased to ~ 4.1 EUR on 20th, OCT'2010).
I would like call it "BRUNCH",
^^ 'Cause, we usually ate as many as we can,
and bought some bread (~ 0.8 EUR per bread) before our daily trip~
so you can save at least 4 EUR (for lunch) everyday.....
of course, the saved $ will be used to a luxurious dinner or something like that :)))))
